The Dermatology Clinic of Iowa has been a cornerstone of the Cedar Rapids community since 1982, when Dr. Donald B. Johnson first opened our doors. In 1999, Dr. David L. Knutson joined the practice, eventually assuming ownership in 2009 and rebranding it to the Dermatology Clinic of Iowa to reflect our commitment to the region. Today, we have entered a new era as a physician-owned partnership led by three doctors who all share deep connections to the Cedar Rapids and Marion area.
Our leadership team blends world-class medical training with a personal investment in our neighbors’ health. Dr. David L. Knutson brings a unique diagnostic perspective to the clinic, utilizing his background in the fine arts to inform the visual precision required in dermatology. He is joined by Dr. Caroline Morris, a Coe College alumna and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon who provides our patients with the highest level of specialized skin cancer treatment. Completing our partnership is Dr. Matthew Landherr, a Marion native known for his compassionate, friendly demeanor and his dedication to making every patient visit a positive, personalized experience. Together, they carry forward a legacy of excellence, ensuring that advanced, expert skin care remains a local priority.
