Carmen Meeker is an Arkansas native who attended Harding University, where she graduated Cum Laude in 2012 with a degree in exercise science. While at Harding, she was a Student Association Representative, and Academic Student Liaison while maintaining Dean’s List status.
Raised by a Costa Rican mother, Carmen knew from an early age she was interested in both medicine and mission work when her mother’s native tongue and interest in the Latin American culture took her on numerous mission trips to Mexico and medical missions to Honduras and Guatemala.
She served as a translator at local free clinics and during numerous medical mission trips throughout both her undergraduate and graduate degrees. Continuing her education at Harding, Carmen pursued her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
In 2012, Carmen married her husband Daniel and moved to Little Rock shortly thereafter. In 2020 they moved here to Iowa for her husband to complete residency at the University of Iowa. She has enjoyed getting to explore Iowa and all it has to offer with her husband, daughter and two dogs.
