Acne is a very common skin condition that is typically seen during teen years but can also occur before puberty and in adults. It is essentially a hormone affect interfering with the normal maturation process in the skin. The most common areas affected are the face, chest and back. Acne lesions consist of comedones (whiteheads and  blackheads), inflammatory papules, pustules, and cysts. Severe forms can cause scarring.

Treatment: washes (over-the-counter and prescription), creams, antibiotics, spironolactone and in more severe cases isotretinoin (Accutane)
