Hyperhidrosis
Hyperhidrosis is a condition characterized by excessive sweating beyond what is needed to regulate body temperature. This type of sweating can occur even when you are not physically active or in a warm environment and may interfere with daily activities, work, and social interactions.
It commonly begins around puberty and often affects specific areas of the body, such as:
- Armpits (axillary hyperhidrosis)
- Hands (palmar hyperhidrosis
- Feet (plantar hyperhidrosis)
- Face, head, and scalp (craniofacial hyperhidrosis)
Symptoms include frequent, noticeable sweating that may soak through clothing or cause dampness in the hands and feet. Hyperhidrosis typically occurs at least once a week while awake and affects both sides of the body.
While the exact cause isn’t always clear, hyperhidrosis is often linked to overactive sweat glands rather than an underlying medical condition.
Treatment Options: Topical and oral medications.
Our team will evaluate the severity and pattern of your hyperhidrosis and recommend or prescribe the most appropriate treatment to help manage symptoms, improve comfort, and support your confidence in everyday life.
