Annual Skin Cancer Exams

Patients come to see us for a variety of reasons.
Some patients have a specific reason for a visit such as acne, a rash or warts.
We also see patients on a regular basis, whether it be annually or more frequently, for skin checks where the dermatologist will examine areas of concern. In some cases, a worrisome lesion will be removed and biopsied.

Less worrisome areas may be photographed for monitoring. Skin checks are especially important for people who have already had skin cancer or have a family history of it. Annual skin exams are also available to anyone who simply wants the peace of mind that their skin is free of any worrisome lesions. If pre-cancerous lesions (actinic keratoses) are found, one option of treatment we offer is Photodynamic Therapy that will destroy the pre-cancerous cells.
